What’s On: Masters Tournament 2018

March 27, 2018

Everything you need to know about the Masters Tournament hitting Augusta, Georgia this April.

Also known as The Masters or The US Masters, the Masters Tournament is one of the four annual major championships in professional men’s golf. Returning to Augusta, Georgia in the first full week of April, this tournament is the first major golfing event of the year.

2018 will mark the 82nd Masters Tournament since it was founded in 1934, and unlike other golfing events, is held at the same location each year – the Augusta National Golf Club.

History

Noted amateur golfing champion Bobby Jones started the Masters Tournament with investment banker Clifford Richards. Jones acquired a plant nursery soon after his 1930 grand slam win, and with the help of architect Alister MacKenzie, he curated and co-designed what is now the Augusta National Golf Club.
